1999 (old style) Volkswagen GTI VR6

1997-1999 VW GTI

The 1999 GTI (old style) was available only in a VR6 version and it is available in Ginster Yellow.  The 4 cylinder was been discontinued, but the Golf Wolfsburg Edition 4 door is trimmed just like 1998's 4 cylinder GTI plus it has features not available previously on 4 cylinder GTIs or Golfs like power windows and cruise control.  Unfortunately VW missed this opportunity to paint these special edition cars yellow.  The 1999 (old style) Golfs, GTIs and Jettas are similar to the 1998 models and were limited in production because the A-4 models were also designated 1999 models.

1998 VOLKSWAGEN: The 1998 new beetle was available in yellow.  The 1998 GTI (the 2 door Golf) is available in Ginster Yellow  in both the 4 cylinder and VR6 versions.  Ginster Yellow is an extra cost paint.  Too bad VW did not offer Ginster Yellow paint on the Jettas, Golfs and Cabrios.  It would have not cost VW anything significant because all of these cars are assembled on the same production line.

1997 VOLKSWAGEN:  The yellow is an option on the GTI.  Not sure whether the color is available on just the VR6 model or on both the 4 cyl and VR6 models.
